PUBLIC WELLS

 The municipality owns and operates a community well-located at NE 33-32-11-3

  • Water depth and meter reads are recorded every month.
  • Well access is restricted to domestic use. Not for industrial use.
  • Water is non-potable and no chemicals or mix and fills are allowed on site.
  • Access is monitored and restriction is maintained through the issue of a key for a first time fee of $20.00 to ratepayers and $40.00 to non-ratepayers. Additional keys will be sold at $10.00 each.
  • Commercial water use is available at a rate of $0.015/gallon or $4.00/cube. A log sheet must be displayed at the well site indicating the water usage taken.

A second well is located at the Crystal Beach Orchard SE 11-32-12-3

  • Water depth and meter reads are recorded every month.
  • Well access is restricted to domestic use. Not for industrial use.
  • Water is non-potable and no chemicals or mix and fills are allowed on site.
  • Water use is on a timer which allows up to 30 minutes of fill time 


  • The municipality jointly owns and operates a community well located at SE 3-31-11-3 with the RM of Fertile Valley No. 285 and the RM of Milden No. 286.
  • The RM of Milden administers the costs and is shared equally amongst the three RM’s. Maintenance is also done by the RM of Milden.

WEED CONTROL

The municipality may provide a licensed applicator when available and chemical herbicide for application on specific species of noxious weeds under the Noxious Weed Act and approved by council.

The land owner is 100% responsible for any weed control required on their own land. If the municipality is required to hire a licensed applicator to resolve the noxious weeds, the land owner will be invoiced the full amount. 

In the event that the owner does not pay the invoiced 100% cost by December 31 of the year in which work was done, it shall be deemed custom work and the amount outstanding shall be added to the property tax account and form part of the tax arrears.
